Silver–Coated Solid Sodalime Glass Microspheres are designed to be highly conductive and specifically optimized for use in EMI shielding. The optimized silver coating thickness provides the spheres with conductive and shielding properties. Silver metal coated glass spheres have been demonstrated to be more efficient conductive filler than materials such as nickel and graphite powders and flakes. By incorporating silver coated microspheres into their products, manufacturers can realize significant weight savings over solid silver particles and other conductive fillers. Coatings with EMI shielding of greater than 45db have been produced by adding as little as 20% by weight of silver-coated glass microspheres.
