Paramagnetic microspheres have the ability to increase their magnetization with an applied magnetic field and decrease their magnetism when the field is removed. No residual magnetization is observed which provides very practical advantages for end uses, including ease of separation and suitability for automation. When the field is removed, the microspheres demagnetize and redisperse easily.
